International Women’s Day is a global day for celebrating the achievements of women and encourages us to consider gender equality in all areas of our life and the workplace. Within SPS we are lucky to be surrounded by many successful, strong and inspirational women.
Supporting IWD at SPS
To show our support of this year’s campaign, we are celebrating some of our own amazing women at SPS, who regularly go above and beyond. There are lots of very worthy contenders however we have selected the following colleagues as examples of women who really personify our vision and values.
Kate Turner
SPS Value – Dedicated
Kate Turner is one of our Drivers and has shown huge dedication to raising money for colleagues, through baking cakes for charity bake sales in her own time. Kate has made a big difference to these colleagues and charities such as Macmillan with the amount of money raised through these activities.
Paula Wyatt
SPS Value – Respectful
Paula works in our busy Recruitment team. She welcomes all new starters into the business in an inclusive and respectful way. We consistently receive positive feedback from our new recruits on the whole recruitment and induction process and how looked after they have felt. Paula has been recruiting new Drivers into the team since the early days of SPS and remains consistently energetic and committed to this hugely important role.
Chloe Marchione
SPS Value – Innovative
Chloe is our Head of Data and Analytics and is constantly looking for new and innovative ways to improve the business through data and systems utilisation. Chloe is transforming how we use data to make business decisions and improve the working lives of our colleagues.
Dal Willis
SPS Value – Versatile
Dal Willis is usually out on the roads transporting the workforce to Site. Recently, Dal has been supporting our Customer Services department where she has made a real difference to the team. She has adapted to the role and embraced the new challenge.
Chrissy Nolan
SPS Value – Empowered
Chrissy Nolan works in the Operations Team and is currently seconded to Lead Supervisor where she has really shone. Chrissy has also been stepping up to a Duty Manager role when required, embracing new learning every day.
Supporting Paragon – a local women’s refuge
As part of our International Women’s Day celebrations, we have partnered with local charity – Paragon.
We want to give back and support the women in our local community who need it most. Paragon is a women’s refuge based near Taunton and provides care for victims of domestic abuse.
They need donations of food and supplies to enable them to continue providing this service.
We have set up collection stations at SPS for colleagues to donate required items. If you would like to support our campaign and can donate even just one of the items on their wish list below, you will be making a huge difference.
• Tea
• Coffee
• Pasta
• Rice
• Pasta sauces
• Pot noodles
• Biscuits
• Tins e.g. beans, tuna, soup
• Cereal
• Bath and hand towels (must be new)
• Duvets, pillows and bedding (must be new)
If you would like to make a donation, please contact us by 31st March 2023.
