A huge well done to parking supervisor Liam Groves who ran the Weston Super Mare Half Marathon and raised £385 for Mind in Somerset.
Liam completed the race in 1 hour and 35 minutes and even got a PB!
Keen runner Liam, who’s worked at SPS for 3 years, knows first hand about the support that Mind offer and is passionate about raising awareness of how they can help anyone suffering with mental health issues.
He said:
“Like many people, over the past 18 months, I have seen my mental health suffer and until I was in that situation I never appreciated how debilitating it can be to your life and those around you. I suffered with anxiety and found simple day to day tasks hard to complete. It affected my home life and my career and I was at a real low. I am proud to say that I am one of the lucky ones that came out the other side but many don’t. Running has been one of the ways I have been able to accept and manage my anxiety, so I thought taking on my first ever running event would be an apt way to fundraise”.
Liam spent months training for the marathon and weas delighted to be able to raise £385 for Mind.
