Celebrating World Book Day with our Local Community

This #WorldBookDay, colleagues from across the SPS were delighted to represent the business as part of the Next Stage Somerset World Book Day initiative.

Our team visited Willowdown Primary School and Eastover Primary School in Bridgwater to share stories, donate books, and inspire young minds!

From answering curious questions about our work at SPS and on the HPC Project to sparking imaginations through reading, it was a reminder of how powerful community connection can be.

Here is what some of our team had to say:

“I really enjoyed attending local schools and reading books for world book day, it was interesting to see how different children engaged depending on which age group they were and exciting to be able to adapt books to their interests. It was lovely to see how inspired some children are when it comes to getting dressed up as their favourite characters and also the bravery when it came to standing up at the front with us to read in front of their classmates”. (Courtney Cook – Recruitment Coordinator)

“What an incredible privilege to join Eastover School for World Book Day! Sharing childhood favorite stories with such a fantastic, energetic, and inquisitive group of pupils left my heart full—their creativity and enthusiasm were pure magic. I look further to future partnerships to help raise road safety awareness”. (Steve Randle – Lead Trainer)

Our commitment doesn’t stop there!

At SPS, giving back is at the heart of what we do. Whether it’s:

  • Litter picking to keep Bridgwater clean,
  • Promoting road safety near schools,
  • Or sharing the magic of books with future leaders…

We’re dedicated to making a difference. And this is just the beginning as we look to support more community initiatives this year. Watch this space!

Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff at Willowdown and Eastover for welcoming us with such enthusiasm.
