The wheels on the bus… Support for local school trip!

Somerset Passenger Solutions, with the support of Hinkley Point C, were delighted to provide the transport for Stogursey Primary School's recent trip.

SPS transported 15 schoolchildren on 15th February for an educational trip to Carymoor Environmental Centre.

The children set off from Stogursey after the school bell for the 1 hour journey to the centre in Castle Cary.  After donning welly boots and waterproofs, the children happily disembarked and headed off with the wonderfully enthusiastic hosts at the centre.

A Trustee meeting was underway at the centre and some trustees spoke to the driver and expressed their thanks to SPS and Hinkley Point C for providing transport.  They explained that many schools in Somerset would love to be able to bring their children for a similar visit but they, simply cannot afford the transport costs.

The day was spent by the children exploring the outdoor areas of the centre followed up with classroom educational and craft sessions.  The children happily boarded the coach for the return journey armed with the fruits of their efforts including seedlings in pots of compost produced at the centre. Muddy boots were removed so the cleanliness of the coach was largely preserved!

A very happy day out for all involved – including our driver Jim Treadaway.

Working with the team at Hinkley Point C, Somerset Passenger Solutions are committed to supporting the communities we operate in. We look forward to our next school adventure.
