Parking Management

Promoting responsible parking in the community

At SPS, we are committed to promoting a positive relationship between the HPC workforce and the local community. One important aspect of this is ensuring responsible parking practices.

Fly parking

“Fly parking” occurs when an individual parks their personal vehicle in an area that is neither their designated Park and Ride facility nor within close proximity to their registered accommodation while commuting to work. This type of parking is considered inconsiderate and disruptive to the community.

To address this issue, we have established a dedicated community team that regularly patrols Bridgwater and the surrounding villages.

Our community team

Our community team collaborates closely with the EDF community team, Avon and Somerset Police, and the Somerset Council Safety Officer to monitor and address potential and actual instances of fly parking.

The team maintains a strong, visible presence, engaging with the public while on patrol in clearly marked vehicles and uniforms.

In line with our commitment to environmental sustainability, all patrols are conducted using electric vehicles, further contributing to the well-being of the community.
