On 17th August, Customer Services Lead Sam will be doing the 3 Peaks Challenge to raise money for Young Lives vs Cancer 💗.
Sam tells us why this charity is so important to him….
“In October 2019, my daughter Isla was just 8 months old when she was diagnosed with a rare cancerous brain tumour.
The news that your child is ill is a parent’s worst nightmare, being told they have cancer, well words can’t really describe the feelings and emotions you feel.
The tumour was at the back of her head and was the size of an orange.
Isla went on to have 7 brain surgeries with one lasting 15 hours and 2 years of intensive chemotherapy.
There is no way my family would have gotten through all this without the help of Young Lives vs Cancer. They support families medically, emotionally, financially, a shoulder to cry on and they continue to support us 5 years on.
My family are lucky, and Isa is doing amazing, but many children aren’t so lucky.
I’m taking on this challenge to raise awareness for Young lives, childhood cancer and to raise some money. Its the least I can do.
